These are the queries that a user enters into a search engine were the engine then examines its index and diplays a list of web sites that best match the key word according to the criteria of the said key words.
The search engine examines for the words or phrases exactly as entered whilst some will provide a "proximity search" which allows users to ascertain differences between suggested keywords.
The keywords are also the text entered on the meta tags of web page code as shown in the example on the right.
